Ching Chuan (mirror fist) Kung Fu

The Ching Chuan Kung Fu system has been designed by Sijo Graham Pearl with juniors in mind based on Tien Laiyi Chuan, Wu-shu and Escrima. Over the years it has evolved into an easy to learn system adapted for the motor skills of children as a posed to adults.
One of the main principles of the mirror fist system, is less reliance on power and strength for effective self defence.
The syllabus eases the novice into martial arts training and techniques, yet has a full grading system up to black sash status.
The system incorporates numerous locks, holds and take downs which are more important than being able to kick someone in the throat from a self defence point of view.

Ching Chuan Kung Fu has many advantages

- Kung Fu was designed by monks for fitness, creativity and self defence not for killing.

- Kung Fu gives confidence and respect and humility.

- Practical self defence without the total reliance on strength and power.

- Shape, size and aggression are not the determining factors for achievement.

- Unlike Yorkie it is for girls as well.

- The style is easy to learn with support material provided for the students and their parents.
